FormaV
What is FormaV?
FormaV utilizes Votiva which is a radiofrequency instrument that delivers uniform heating in applied areas for tissue remodeling. With FormaV it is applied in the vaginal area to relieve vaginal health problems including decreased sexual desire, urinary incontinence, loss of sensitivity and painful intercourse. It stimulates the production of collagen and elastin which tightens the tissue and increases circulation. It differs from similar treatments including Morpheus8V as it is noninvasive and does not utilize microneedling.
How does FormaV work?
When coming for your treatment, your vaginal canal will be measured so that the proper FormaV wand length is used for treatment. A topical anesthetic will be applied and then the wand will be inserted and slowly rotated to ensure that the radiofrequency is evenly applied throughout the canal. The treatment will typically take about 30 minutes, but can vary depending on the person.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments necessary is individualized and will be dependent on the concern FormaV is treating. In general, patients will need three consecutive treatments spread over a 12-18 week span for the best results. Results of the treatment can start to be seen in a minimum of two weeks with significant vaginal tightening and improvement in urinary incontinence. Over time with further treatments, the results will continue to emphasize.
Is there any recovery time necessary?
FormaV treatment is usually well-tolerated with minimal side effects including swelling, redness or sensitivity. These side effects typically resolve in a few days. This treatment does not require any downtime and you can resume your daily activities right after treatment. However, you will need to abstain from intercourse for up to a week while the area heals.
