Morpheus8 vs. Microneedling: Which One Actually Gets You Tighter, Brighter Skin?

Microneedling is great… but is it enough?

What is the difference between microneedling vs. Morpheus8?

Microneedling offers a range of skin-rejuvenating benefits by creating tiny controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which stimulate the body’s natural healing process and boost collagen and elastin production. This treatment can improve skin texture and tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, minimize acne scars and stretch marks, and shrink enlarged pores. It can also enhance the effectiveness of skincare products by allowing deeper penetration of active ingredients. Microneedling is a versatile, minimally invasive treatment suitable for most skin types, and with consistent sessions, it can deliver smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin.

Microneedling

Microneedling punctures the top layer of the skin to create micro-injuries that trigger the skin’s natural healing process. This causes cell turnover, and increases collagen and elastin production.  It is ideal for those from the mid-20s to 50s to address signs of early aging, rejuvenate the skin, heal scarring, smoothen skin texture and tighten the skin. Microneedling can also be beneficial for deeper penetration for other treatments such as topical skincare.

  • Depth: 0.5-2.5mm

  • # of Treatments: 4-6

  • Recovery Period: 24-48 hours

  • Results: several months to a year

Morpheus8

Morpheus8 combines traditional microneedling with radiofrequency (RF). It uses the needles to deliver RF to heat up tissue deeper into the skin in the dermis and subdermal layers. It triggers a similar response to microneedling but as it is a deeper penetration it triggers a fuller response – ideal for those in their 30s and older that are experiencing more advanced signs of aging such as deeper wrinkles and skin elasticity. Due to the combination with RF, it can also target underlying fat, which has the additional benefit of contouring. Due to this, it can be beneficial in areas other than the face including the abdomen, arms, thighs, and buttocks –which can be utilized post-weight loss.

  • Depth: up to 4mm

  • # of Treatments: 1-3 sessions

  • Recovery Period: 1-3 days, with potential bruising

  • Results: 1-2 years

How do I know which one to choose?

The right treatment is largely dependent on your aesthetic end goal. If the imperfections you would like to fix are surface level, microneedling should be sufficient and a more affordable treatment. If you are concerned with deeper wrinkles or skin sagging, that may require that more intense response from Morpheus8.

For some with broader areas of concerns undergoing different stages of aging, it may be possible to customize your treatment and utilize both depending on what is needed to achieve the best aesthetic you.

Core Aesthetic offers both Morpheus8 and microneedling treatments. With our expert Morpheus8 and expert providers we can find your perfect skin solution – book your personalized consultation now.
